The off-chain snapshot for stkIDLE holders reached the quorum, and more than 500k IDLE votes were broadcast during the on-chain voting phase!
As a result, IIP-20 succeeded and Idle DAO executed it, Gauges are now live! 
With the launch of IIP-20, Idle Leagues moved the admin rights to the DAO, fully empowering it to hold the ownership of the Gauges contracts.
Gauges were deployed earlier in a guarded launch phase, allowing Dev League to test the contracts and customize the UI.
IIP-20, which finalized the IDLE transfer to IdleDistribution contract, did not include the change of the Gauges’ IDLE distribution rate, now set at 10 IDLE/week.
Consequently, Leagues will launch a new IIP to unlock the full Gauges’ IDLE distribution rate (990 IDLE/day), whose on-chain finalization will be on April 15th.
This period gives the DAO the opportunity to directly vote on the Gauges weights that will receive the first full-rate emission.
From April 7th to April 14th, stkIDLE holders will vote on their preferred Senior PYTs, allowing the pools to start the Gauges season with a share of the 990 IDLE/day stream.
During this timeframe, we have the chance to enable the stakeholders within the Idle ecosystem (IDLE token holders, liquidity providers, protocol partners) to get familiar with the new governance tool.
Documentation and step-by-step tutorial will be released later today.
This extension would help the DAO also finalize some deployments, such as mUSD, mUSDcrv, and pBTC Tranches release.
Furthermore, platforms focused on VEV will be able to move forward with the integration of the Idle Gauges and let token holders accrue additional rewards.
This is the expected timeline:
- April 5th: Gauges guarded launch
- April 6th: IIP-21 launch to set final IDLE distribution rate
- April 7th - April 14th: Gauges voting phase
- April 11th: IIP-21 execution
- April 14th: production release of Gauges, with DAO-voted Gauges
- April 15th: final IDLE distribution rate (990 IDLE/day) activated
